Rich Banick grew up in Dunmore PA and graduated from Dunmore High School. He pursued his bachelor of fine arts degree in professional photographic illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). After graduating from RIT, he worked as a photojournalist for the Scranton Times from 1993 to 2004. He has been published in most of the major daily newspapers in the United States and Internationally via the Associated Press. He has also been published in magazines around the world. When he worked at the newspaper, he had the opportunity to travel and cover the local angle on national and international stories.

Rich is constantly trying to better himself as a photographer. He regularly attends several of the national photography conventions each year, and also attends hands on workshops where he learns from top photographers in their specialized field.

When you mesh Rich's photojournalism skills with his portrait and advertising experience, you have NEPA's most well rounded photographer. A photographer that is as comfortable at photographing the President of the United States as he is a little leaguer, and everything in between.
